Desert Rose is an evergreen, drought-deciduous succulent shrub, or small tree.
The plant is also frequently used as a bonsai plant as it can be easily grown in containers. It has a thick stem and fleshy branches. The leaves are spirally arranged, clustered toward the tips of the shoots, simple entire, leathery in texture. Native to dry desert regions of Africa, Asia, and Tanzania. It is often used as a houseplant. From the bulbous, often twisted base, thick succulent gray-green branching stems with few leaves appear.
The blooms are funnel-shaped, 5-lobed and clustered at the ends of branches, white, pink or red in color often pale with a darker edge.
They appreciate a warm and bright environment, with full sun, perfect for a sunny window.
They also like humidity, which can be created by misting them regularly with clean water from a spray bottle.
Water them frequently, but make sure the soil on the surface dries out in between waterings. And choose a pot with ample drainage holes for container plantings. Desert rose grows well in a well-drained succulent mix, which is rich in organic matter and has a slightly acidic pH is ideal for the plant.
The size measurements include the height of the pot.
