Monstera Deliciosa is an evergreen climbing shrub.

Swiss Cheese plant is best at absorbing high levels of Formald. from the air, and releasing Oxygen.

Theyre fun and easy houseplants for new plant parents. With huge glossy dark green leaves, Monstera Deliciosa, also known by its common name Swiss Cheese Plant, is a striking eye-catching addition to any room.

And its also a popular houseplant because its generally not fussy. Its gorgeous leaves develop gaps/holes that give it its whimsical name, and they may grow up to three feet wide!

Its a great plant for new plant owners and experienced plant owners alike.

Monstera Deliciosa grows best with indirect sunlight. If direct sunlight is unavoidable, limit the exposure to just two to three hours of the morning sun.

This plant grows best in peat-moss based potting soil, inside a pot that has a large drainage hole. The peat moss helps trap moisture in the soil without allowing it to become waterlogged.

Before you water a Swiss Cheese plant, do the knuckle teststick your finger up to the knuckle into the soil to see how wet or dry the soil is, if the soil is nearly dry, water it. Dont let the soil dry out entirely.

Best grown in a conservatory or greenhouse where humidity, temperature, and light are all maximized, ex: choose well-lit, warm and humid bathrooms or kitchens, and additionally mist your plant frequently.

Once youve potted or re-potted the plant, dont fertilize within four to six months if youre using a general houseplant potting soil. These soils have slow-release fertilizer already mixed in. After this, fertilize when you water during the summer and spring months, then refrain from feeding during the fall and winter seasons.
