Sharjah chamber organizes a workshop for its board on strategic planning

H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, chairman of Sharjah chamber of commerce and industry confirmed that among the most prominent priorities of the chamber's work strategy for coming years is to enhance the business community's environment in Sharjah to keep up with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to achieve balanced integration between the economic development and building of conscious and effective human being, in a consistent frame with the UAE vision 2021 in prosperity and sustainability, also to continue the care and protection of the interests of the private sector, and launch of initiatives serving the promotion and development of its performance and stimulate investment in Sharjah, and avail encouraging means for small and medium sized projects, in addition to the development of human resources of the chamber and attract the qualified citizens, and build strategic partnerships with academic authorities to provide the privates sector with studies, statistics and data to develop the economic climate in general and the private sector in particular.
 This came at the end of a two days workshop organized by the chamber and entitled "Strategic planning" with the participation of H.E. Sheikh Majid Bin Faisal Al Qasimi, first deputy of the chairman and Walid BoKhater, the second deputy, and Ziyad Keir Allan Al Heji, honorary treasury, member of the board, in addition to Hussein Al Mahmoudi, director general of the chamber, and Khalid Bin Butti Bin Obeid, assistant director general for membership and branches affairs, Mohamed Ahmed Amin, assistant director general for economic affairs and Maryam Seif Al Shamesi, assistant director general for human resources, finance and information, and General Dr. Abdul Quddus Abdul Razak Al Obaidaly, Director General of the Directorate General of Total Quality in Dubai Police.
The workshop discussed during its five sessions many subjects aiming at how to identify the concepts and principles related to scientific strategic planning, study and analysis visions used in strategic planning to enable the chamber to implement the directives of H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah, and achieve the desired objectives defining the future trends and vision of its work plan to serve and develop the business community.
The aim of this workshop was to introduce the stages of strategic planning to participants, and provide them with the skills to define, prepare and follow up the operational and strategic plans, and the use of expertise and educational means to present the main features of strategic planning.
Al Owais said that this meeting is the result of joint effective cooperation with the Dubai Police as the chamber is keen to apply the best practices and benefit from the expertise reflected by the successes and achievements of Dubai Police as a practical and realistic model of creativity and innovation of institutional performance. 
Maryam Seif Al Shamesi added that the workshop comes as part of the work plan of the human resources department and in cooperation with its strategic partners to provide training programs and workshops to develop and evolve the skills and knowledge of human cadres of the chamber
