In accordance with Article 39 of the International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005, all ships operating on international routes must have a valid sanitation certificate on board, either Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificates or Ship Sanitation Control Certificates.
Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificates are issued when ships have been inspected and no evidence of a public health risk on board has been found. Ship Sanitation Control Certificates are issued when a public health risk (including sources of infection or contamination) has been identified on the ship, necessitating a control measure being applied. Neon Environment Services is accredited by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Federal Transport Authority, UAE, to provide pest control services and issue ship sanitation certificates. Additionally, Neon Environment Services is an approved contracted company by the Abu Dhabi Ports Group to provide pest control services and issue ship sanitation certificates for vessels and ships calling at Abu Dhabi Ports.
