Founder & Chairman Mr.Ram Niranjan Jatia , the founder of Evergreen Global Pte Ltd, started his trading business in Myanmar. In 1962, at a very young age of 21, he shifted base to India and built his reputation in the imported Japanese Polyester Yarn business. He soon extended his Textile and Textile Raw Material operations to Nepal, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
In 1989, he decided to base the headquarters in Singapore, which was then quickly becoming a major trading hub in the Far East. Tyre trading was added as one of the core focus areas and to manage the fast growing business, branch offices were established in Myanmar, Vietnam, Philippines and Dubai.
The distribution network was further strengthened and the customer base was expanded to over 70 countries. Today Evergreen Global is well known in the Textile Raw Material and Tyre business. With a reputation built on honesty, fairplay and quality products at competitive prices , it comes as no surprise that our partners in progress suppliers ,customers and stakeholders have been associated with us for a long time and are as committed to us as we are to them.
To consolidate the tyre trading business, it was decided to manufacture our own private brands in India and China. Designed by an in house technical team and guided by inputs from the marketing team and customers, this strategic move has helped to add depth to the Tyre business.
Also with the success of the Textile Raw Material business, it was decided to backward integrate with the setting up of a Synthetic spinning plant in Vietnam. The new green field Synthetic spinning plant with state of the art machinery has started commercial production in 2008. The commercial acceptance of the products from this plant as a quality product has been yet another feather in the cap .
As part of the diversification strategy , new businesses like Thermal Coal and Rubber trading which supplement our core strengths , have also been added.
With the group turnover growing from SGD 10 million in 1990 to over SGD 275 million presently, Evergreen Global believes that growth and success will continue to come its way by adhering to its old philosophy of TRUST & COMMITMENT .
