Tianjin Pipe Group Corporation (TPCO),located in Tianjin Binhai New Area, is a steel pipe base of Chinas energy industry. Its construction started in 1989,hot trial succeeded in 1992 and formal production began in 1996.Its principal product are oil casing and other tubular goods such as high and medium-pressure boiler tube, high-pressure cylinder pipe, hydraulic support pipe, line-pipe and others.
In the beginning the most advanced equipment and technology of the early 1990s in steel-making, pipe-rolling, pipe finishing and direct reduction iron were introduced from abroad supported with perfect automatic systems, which made TPCO the best and largest manufacturer of tubular goods in technology and scale in China then. After almost 20 years of unremitting efforts TPCO has achieved remarkable achievement.
There are now 3 units of ultra-high-power electric arc furnace in the steel-making system, 6 sets of rolling mills which are of 4 types namely MPM,PQF,ASSEL and REM in the rolling system and 24 production lines in the finishing system. An annual production capacity of 3.5 million tons of pipes can be attained. A number of high level projects like copper rod, stainless steel sheet, color coil PPGI, high-pressure cylinder and so on has been completed and new industries of equipment manufacture, international trade and logistics have been developed, thus forming a pattern of pipe production as the mainstay and several industries as support. As a result of such development TPCO is now among Chinas top 500 enterprises and top 500 manufacturers.
TPCO has built a first-rate R&D center for tubular goods in the world equipped with vertical full-scale intermediate testing lines with which a TP product series that TPCO owns its independent intellectual property has been developed. Product steel grades have increased from 3 to 26 , accordingly varieties from several dozen to about 10,000, among which over 80 items are totally new in China. TPCO and Semag-Meer of Germany jointly won the bid for the BMZ pipe project in Byelorussia that marked the transition of TPCO from importer of technology to exporter of technology. Four achievements in the research of new processes and technology were rewarded the Prize of China National Award for Progress in S & T ".
TPCO takes an active part in the international competition and cooperation and persists in the principle of mutual benefit and common advances. TPCO maintains excellent marketing procedures and service guarantee systems for providing customers and users with good services in pre-sales , mid-sales and after-sales to achieve the transfer of product marketing to brand marketing. The market share of oil casing in the domestic market is about 50% and TPCOs products are sold to almost 100 countries and regions. TPCOs casing is granted Famous Chinese Product, seamless pipe Renowned Chinese Export Commodity and the trade mark of "TPCO"is recognized as a well-known Chinese trade mark. The title of China National Outstanding Enterprise in Quality Control was conferred on TPCO. It is one of the top 500 importers and exporters of enterprises in China.
