A hot rolled coil (HR) is a sheet that is heated and subsequently wound after the rolling process. An HR coil is produced at high temperatures over 1,700 degrees F, above its recrystallization temperature. This makes the prime hot rolled steel coils easy to form and work with. These coils have a scaled surface and show slight distortions. The Jindal HR coil is wound and can be efficiently transported and later sheared in different sizes.
