IS 2062 grade B is a low carbon structural steel grade. The Is 2062 plate is designed with a chemical composition of carbon, manganese, sulphur, phosphorous, and silicon. The versatile IS 2062 Grade B plate has good strength and corrosion resistance. These plates work well in different temperature and pressure conditions. Mild steel IS 2062 GR.B plate usually contains carbon content between 0.05 to 0.25 percent. These plates have enhanced ductility and outstanding weldability.
The grade can be both hot and cold rolled. Steel IS 2062 hot rolled plate is processed as metal is heated at high temperatures above 1700 degrees F. These plates have a scaled surface and are easy to form and work on. The GR.B IS 2062 MS cold rolled plate is processed at room temperature after the hot rolling process. These plates have excellent strength and outstanding surface finish compared to the IS 2062 gr. B hot rolled plate.
