IMA in support of Ellis Island Honors for Bahamas Relief - Americares
You surely have heard of the devastation Hurricane Dorian wrought on the Bahamas last week. According to US weather agencies, it is the second most powerful Atlantic hurricane on record; lasting over 40 hours and with winds exceeding 180 mph.
The hardest hit islands were Grand Bahama, which at one point was nearly totally underwater, and Abacos which experienced over 40 inches of rainfall and storm surges that rose up to 20-feet. Most recent reports say at least 44 people lost their lives but due to post-disaster chaos, many areas have not yet been heard from.
This Category 5 storm also destroyed necessary public utilities and medical facilities. The pain Hurricane Dorian inflicted on The Bahamas is terrible, but the damage is not over. Now, the good people of the Bahamas must rebuild their lives as they rebuild their country.
How can you help? The IMA has partnered with the Ellis Island Honors Society and Americares to help Dorian's victims. Americares is a health-focused relief organization that responds to people affected by disaster with life-changing medicine, medical supplies and health programs.
IMA chose to work with Americares because of their 40+ years of experience and their excellent record of making every dollar count. Thanks to professional partnerships and shrewd economics, Americares gets 8x the value of each US dollar donated.
This is why Charity Navigator recently recognized them with a 4-star rating. You can learn more about Americares here.
Will you join me and lend a hand to those in need? I've attached this special donation link that goes directly to Americares.
