Further to the note circulated on 17 March 2020. We are pleased to report that the Court has been very successful with its remote working arrangements. It has largely been business as usual, over the last 5 weeks, with approximately 90% of hearings being conducted over telephone conference, or where possible, over video conference. The remaining 10% of hearings which have had to be postponed due to technicalities involved with the swearing in of witnesses, for example, will be listed in the first week after the Registry resumes work from the DIFC Courts offices.
Given the current government directives to Stay Home in an effort to continue the sanitisation drive, the Registry and Court will continue to operate remotely until further notice. On that basis, the Registrys (physical) return to the office will no longer be on 26 April 2020 as initially planned.
We continue to encourage practitioners and court users to email the Registry for all enquiries.
A reminder that emails should be addressed as follows:
In the event of urgent queries and applications, please contact the Registry switchboard number on +971 4 427 3333 between 8.00am and 4.00pm, Sunday to Thursday.
For those celebrating the Holy Month of Ramadan, our very best wishes to you and your families for a blessed and peaceful month.
